Boko Haram kills 13, takes over 5 communities

About thirteen persons were this week killed as adherents of the dreaded Boko Haram Islamic sect overwhelmed five communities of Ladin Buta near Khaddamari village of Jere Local Government Area of Borno state.
In the ensuing melee, which went unchecked by security operatives, the sect members armed with Ak47 rifles and petrol bombs including Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), stormed the village north east of Maiduguri at about 7pm and set ablaze many houses after killing 13 residents and injurying scores of others.
They also didn’t spare Khaddamari, a village near Maiduguri Metropolis which they have severally targeted and attacked in the past.
The police, it was gathered, were handicapped as they could not venture to the scene of the mayhem while it was going.
Although the incident has not been officially confirmed, The AUTHORITY on Saturday learnt that some police men later visited the concerned areas and counted 13 bodies.
