Igala People in Anambra recognized by Obiano with a Boat and water ambulance

Governor Willie Obiano has donated one additional flying boat and a water ambulance to the Igala-speaking Communities in Anambra West Council area of the State.      
                                               
Governor Willie Obiano announced the donation at the Governor's Lodge, Amawbia during a meeting he held with representatives of the Igala Community in the State.The additional flying boat brings to three, the total number of flying boats which the Governor has donated to the area.                 

The Igala-speaking communities  of the state are Nzam, Inoma, Owelle, Ukwala, Ala, Odomagwu, Udi, Igbokenyi, Igbedor, Onugwa and Odegbe.                                                              
Governor Obiano who noted that his administration has since its inception ensured fair treatment to everyone in the distribution of its developmental projects irrespective of religion, class or geographical location, said despite the present economic crunch, his government has continued to meet its statutory responsibilities.                   

The Governor said his administration is taking road infrastructural projects to hinterlands where there are economic activities with a view to opening up,  areas and improving the living standard of the inhabitants.                      

According to him, the Water Ambulance which will have a nurse attached to it with drugs,  is to improve the effectiveness of Government's response to Health emergencies in the area while the flying boat is to improve transportation in the area.                                              

He further revealed that the state has selected two Secondary schools from the area to upgrade their Science laboratories so as to ensure that students in the area are not denied their educational dream due to their location.                                     

Earlier, the traditional ruler of Olumbanasaa in Anambra West, Igwe Pius Omachonu thanked Governor Obiano for all his efforts at making life more meaningful for people in the area, adding that they are now experiencing the impact of government for the first time. While pledging their support to the present administration,  traditional ruler appealed for more intervention in the area.                                 

In a vote of thanks, the traditional ruler of Ukwalla, Igwe Joseph Ajodo acknowledged that with the Governor's developmental strides across the state, in no distant time no part of the state will be adjudged as undeveloped.              
The Governor was later presented with bounties by the people in appreciation of his magnanimity towards them.
