Umeh Vows Judiciary won’t be used to frustrate his ambition

Former  national chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, and the party’s candidate in the indefinitely postponed Anambra Central senatorial re-run election, Chief Victor Umeh has said that the attempt by his opponents to use the judiciary to frustrate the re-run election ordered by the Appeal Court in December last year would be an exercise in futility.

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, whose candidate was earlier disqualified by the Court of Appeal from participating in the rerun election, later got a ruling from the Federal High Court that it should present a candidate for the rerun. Following the development, the party has been pressuring the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi to pick the ticket for the rerun and indications are that the former governor may accept the offer.

Speaking with reporters at Oba in Idemili South local government area of the state, Umeh observed that playing pranks cannot go on forever, insisting that whatever happens, the door is closed to people who did not participate in the March 28, 2015 election. According to him, the Court of Appeal will soon give its final judgment on the eligibility of candidates who will participate in the election.
