Thoughts of a concerned Teenager by Solomon Obi

Sometimes I wonder why we exist in this world of ours, every day we keep on going about either looking for what to eat drink or wear. We strive to seek enlightenment in all varsities of knowledge; we struggle to get to the top, to be the best in all of our endeavors.
But I ask myself what really is life and what are we doing here in this wicked world? Where disease and disorderliness thrive, where war and terrorism is the order of the day, where corruption is being celebrated, where politicians struggle for power in order to steal the fruits of the masses to enrich themselves and their generations unborn. A world where they preach peace and unity but what we see around us are conflicts and death, a world where the word “LOVE” has been abused and used as a means of exploitation, I even doubt the existence of love in this world of ours. A world where you see brothers fighting brothers, a world where disrespect is seen as a 21st century norm.
I see the world as an endless cycle, we are born to go to school, get a good job, get married and raise kids. Why can’t we try to make an impact in life? Nothing has changed though they say that change is the only thing constant in life, but nothing has changed except the time and the technology, if you doubt take a good look at the Nigerian political system those who ruled this nation 30-40 years ago, are still in the herm of affairs yet they tell us we are leaders of a never coming tomorrow.
I will like to say in closing that the world is messed up, we need to change it, make it a world we would be proud of and we should stop living in an illusion and like in the movie ‘’matrix’’ the greatest prison is the prison of the mind so free your mind and see the light.
