Corruption has become a social trend in the Nigerian society, and it is very pathetic that no one cares about the deterioration of the moral decadence. So, when people of repute stand up against such moral decadence, especially within the church leadership as published in Authority newspaper Dated 20 Feb 2016 Titled PFN/CAN Stinks by Archbishop Chukwuma. Their efforts need to be commended as Firm and uncompromising clergies in Nigerian state today.
Aisha Edwards, the coordinator of Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder has commended the Anglican Bishop of Enugu Diocese Most Rev, Chukwuma for his recent campaign against moral vices in the society, which lays claim to the words that many are called but few are chosen. The Bishop through the said campaign has proven beyond reasonable doubt that the glory has never departed and that we could still salvage the situation of our society.
The Bishop, out of his kind and magnanimous heart poured out his concerns for the stigmatization meted out on people living with Sickle Cell Disorder. He promised to extend his care and concerns to them the same way he did to the people with Disabilities otherwise known as the physically Challenged in our Society.
Aisha Edwards applauded the Bishop for frowning at the morality behind brides who wear revealing dresses to church on wedding services. He questioned the reasoning behind such morals, as the church should be a place of worship not a place to showcase all sorts of fashion.
She said that as a mother, such moral laws appease her, as they are made too checkmate the excessive traits of ladies who care less about the influence their behaviors have on their children. Aisha said that the moral call wouldn't have come at a better time than now, when women neglect their basic duties to carry placards in frivolous protests, leaving their children at the detriments.
Aisha urged the Bishop to extend his kind heart as promised to the Association of People Living with Sickle Cell Disorder and aid her sensitisation programs, because the Church has a major role to play in curtailing the increasing Carrier Marriages that give rise to sickle Cell children. She assured the society of SICKLE CELL free children in the next five years once the implementation of their law takes place in Nigeria Nation as a whole, She regretted that her absence In her home base ENUGU STATE has made her members to travel all the way to Anambra for a better welfare. And medical management but with a strong voice like that of Bishop Chukwuma, there will be salvation coming their way soon, Aisha Edward was Optimistic that with the Fierce Campaign and Partnership with the CWO AWKA Catholic Diocese Led by Mrs Appolonia Chukwuma, SICKLE CELL disorder proliferation and the sufferers trauma will be a thing of the past God's willing. She urge all School Authorities and Parents Teachers Association to Join in the sensitization train and fight the Ugly Scourge ravaging our Beloved children silently.
