Obiano floods Anambra Rice into Nigeria as Ministry set to launch Anambra Rice brand

Barring any hitches , www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano will this March during Easter flood the Nigerian market with made in Anambra rice to compete with foreign rice.
The Anambra State Ministry of Agriculture has created a standardization procedure for Anambra rice and introduced the Anambra State Rice Brand Seal to the farmers. This was done during the sensitization program for rice farmers hosted  by the state Ministry of Agriculture on Friday.

 According to the directive of Chief Willie Obiano, the Governor of Anambra State, for any rice to qualify to bear the Anambra rice seal under the standardization policy, it must be properly par boiled, stone free, long grained, sorted, polished and bagged according to international standards.
The farmers thanked the Governor for buying their rice and distributing it in the state during the Xmas festivities. They said that this gesture has increased their liquidity and will encourage them to even farm more land mass in the 2016 farming season.

 The Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu, who represented the Governor, communicated to the farmers the Governor's desire to be one of the top 3 rice producing states in Nigeria and committed  to doing more for the farmers in the 2016 farming season.
