Nkwelle Ezunaka Community Employs Shrine To Kill Land Grabbers

Worried by the spate of land grabbing in Nkwelle Ezunaka Community, Oyi Local Government Area, Anambra State, the people in the area yesterday  resolved to employ the services of shrines to avenge by killing any land grabber.
The resolution to use shrines was sequel to complaints by the people through Cyril Edegogu that present leadership grabbed and sold off about 200 plots of land without the consent of genuine owners of the plot.
They consequently passed vote of no confidence on the present leadership led by Charles Obimma and appointed a seven-man caretaker committee headed by Obinna Oduche.
Reacting, the Chairman of the youths, Anthony Okafor said that the youths felt cheated and joined the entire Uruebo people to pass vote of no confidence on the present executive of the community.
In his post-appointment speech, Obinna Oduche pledged to carry everybody along and to see that the wish of the people is done by ensuring that the services of the shrines would be employed when the three families that make up the community agreed on a date for the Shrine oath-taking.
He said “people have fear in shrines because if you offend it, it doesn’t waste time to kill, unlike the Bible that will give you time to repent”.
“It is because, the past executive did not swear to the shrine that they were not killed after grabbing people’s land.
Speaking, a member of the caretaker committee and former Public Relation Officer, PRO, Hon. Vincent Obiora Anyakora said, “the vote of no confidence was passed on the leadership because of maladministration.
The committee members included, Obinna Oduche – Chairman, Edogwugwu Chidozie – Secretary, Obi Anyakora – Member, Ike Jideofo – member, Obumneme Obikwelu – member and Festus Eziem Udokwu – member.
