Governor Obiano angry with Provost NOCEN, commends Prof Kate Azuka Omenugha for being thorough, civil servants too

www.odogwublog.com reports that Governor Willie Obiano is mad with the Provost Nwafor Orizu College of Education (NOCEN), Nsugbe Dr Cordelia Ego Uzoezie for the over 300 ghost workers at the college collecting money worth several millions of naira.
Obiano knew Uzoezie is new Provost of the College but blamed her for not using her Midas touch to stop the embarrassing situation before it comes to his knowledge.
Now, Uzoezie is fighting to do something tough to appease the Governor even as Governor Willie Obiano is full of praises for the Education commissioner for her continued zeal and efforts to save finances for the state government.

Obiano said all efforts by Omenugha did not go unnoticed as her efforts have yielded fruits in government coffers. Omenugha has been tough on those depriving the government of revenue.
Meanwhile Obiano has appreciated civil servants in the state for their high level of understanding  and patience  in the ongoing payment of salaries by cheques.

Governor Obiano made this known when he monitored the exercise at the Jerome Udorji secretariat  Awka. 

Government house correspondent Ngozi Obileri reports that the civil servants were thrilled with the arrival of the governor.

The event has various stages of screening one will undergo before he or she is given a cheque ranging from filling of form , screening and electronic data collection among others.

Addressing the workers,  Governor Obiano urged them to accept the  situation in good faith as it will only last few days, for February salaries only.

Governor Obiano maintained that it is unacceptable for ghost workers to be earning what they did not labour for.

He explained that after the exercise which will end next week,  normal procedure for payment of salaries will be re introduced.

It would be recalled that payment of salaries by cheques commenced on Monday this week.
