Atiku, Obi preach sacrifice, peace

Former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the former Anambra State governor, Mr. Peter Obi have felicitated on this year’s Easter celebration with the Christian community in Nigeria, urging them to emulate the sacrificial life of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Atiku, now a chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) made this known in a statement by the Atiku Media Office in which he enjoined Nigerians to be strong amidst current difficulties, saying that better days would soon come.
Atiku averred that the message of Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection is a perfect analogy for the current situation in Nigeria today and urged Nigerian leaders to emulate the great sacrifice that was the life of Jesus Christ and do everything within their powers to lift majority of Nigerians out of poverty into prosperity.
“The significance of the celebration of Easter, demonstrates that there is never an indomitable situation that hope, good team-spirit and hard work cannot overcome. Things may seem rough and tough today, but it is only for a while. Nigeria will surely rise again in line with the spirit and tenets of Easter,” he said.
Obi in his goodwill message called on all Nigerians to emulate our Lord, Jesus Christ at this Easter Season and afterwards noting that it was the sacrifice and service offered by our Lord which brought Him to glorious resurrection and exaltation.
“Easter is a period which calls for sacrifice just as our Lord Jesus Christ exemplified when He shed His spirituality and assumed a human form in order to save humankind from sin and eternal damnation,” he said.
