IbentaExclusive News: APGA mobilizes 100,000 women for Anambra senatorial election, commends Obiano’s wife for building houses for widows
www.odogwublog.com reports that he State Woman Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Lady Chinyere Ibenta yesterday concluded her door to door mobilization of over 100,000 women for the senatorial re-run election for Anambra Central senatorial zone.
Addressing a team of reporters from Odogwu media limited at the end of the Exercise, Lady Ibenta said the door to door campaign is the first phase in several lines of actions of APGA women wing in mobilizing party members and non members alike for the senatorial re-run of Chief Victor Umeh.
The Anambra state APGA woman Leader commended the mobilization spirit of the wife of the Anambra State governor, Chief Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano which motivated her to embark on one on one campaign for a massive vote for APGA in the re-run in support of Governor Willie Obiano’s philosophy that APGA should emerge victorious and in support of the candidate of APGA, Chief Victor Umeh.
Lady Ibenta insisted that the thrust of Chief Mrs. Obiano’s NGO, the Caring Family Enhancement Initiative (CAFE) established as an interventionist organ with critical interventions in the lives of society’s vulnerable members like widows, women, children, the mentally and physically challenged and the destitute is a jinx breaker in Anambra state as there was never such a magnitude projects by any first lady’s programme in the state.
She said CAFE Housing for Indigent Widows is one such intervention unprecedented in annals of Anambra history, commending Anambra first lady for transforming the houses of three widows with three ultra modern bungalows in Nri, Alor and Agulu.
Lady Ibenta informed the Anambra Governor’s wife had taken over 100 deranged and physically challenged off the road/streets after rehabilitating them at Nteje Rehabilitation center; providing artificial limbs, and arms as well as providing empowerment and skill acquisition to youths, widow and women of which over 200 have benefitted.
APGA woman leader said what marvels him was that the Governor’s wife does not receive any subvention from the government but is able to embark on projects with donations from corporate organizations and individuals, explaining that the three commissioned houses for Mrs. Rebecca Ekezie of Okebunoye Village Alor; Mrs. Helen Okafor of Amatutu Village, Agulu; and Mrs. Catherine Ibekwe of Obeagu village, Nri are part of the Phase One of the CAFÉ housing for Widows spread across three Senatorial districts of the state by Obiano’s wife.
