All set for Ozekhome’s book launch tomorrow ; The book is Zoning to Unzone: The Politics of Power in Nigeria and the Power of Politics in Nigeria
Arrangements have been concluded for tomorrow’s unveiling of a high profile book on zoning and governance written by fiery lawyer and rights activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome, SAN.
The event, scheduled to hold at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja, will be graced by Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Speaker House of Representatives, Hon Yakubu Dogara, over 20 state governors and several eminent Nigerians.
Edo State Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole will be the Chief host , while former Senate President , Ken Nnamani will chair the book presentation which is titled “Zoning to Unzone: The Politics of Power in Nigeria and the Power of Politics in Nigeria .
Some dignitaries billed to attend the august event also include Chief Abu Inu Umoru, business mogul and Chairman, Setraco Nig Ltd, Prof John Ikimalo, President, Usagbe Club of Nigeria, Alhaji Abu Agbonoga,HC Kennedy Izuagbe and Mike Otu.
A statement by the organisers named the Royal Fathers of the day as Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji S’aad Abubakar and ,Dr George Oshiapi Egabor, Okumagbe of Weppa Wanno Kingdom. Other eminent Nigerians and bodies expected to be at the book launch are ,Alhaji Saliu Ehimeakhe, S.K.Ilugbekhai,Chief Oseni Elamah,Chairman, Edo state Inland Revenue, Chief Kabaka,members of Edo Focus group, Etsako Club ‘8,Usagbe Club of Nigeria, Pyramid Club of Nigeria, judges, Senior Advocates of Nigeria, leg-islators, former and serving governors, ministers.
Speaking on the book, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association , Chief Wole Olanipekun, (SAN), said the book, which treated critical and controversial issues like minority rights, power shift, federal character, re-source control and zoning, said the book is a major effort at locating the real problems holding Nigeria down.
Olanipekun described the author as a deep mind and a patriot who has not shied away from issues plaguing the country. According to the former NBA boss, every Nigerian deserves to have the book on his or her shelf.
