Triplets for babies of the year in Anambra receive Obiano’s wife blessings; as CAFE Magazine sells for N500

The wife of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano received triplets today at Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu Teaching Hospital Amaku, Awka as the First Babies of Year 2016 in Anambra State.
The first of the three male babies birthed by Mrs. Chioma Nwankwo, a native of Arondizugo, resident in Awka was reportedly delivered at 12.00am followed by two others by 1.15 am and 1.150 am respectively.

Speaking at the Teaching Hospital after seeing the babies, Mrs. Obiano who was represented by the wife of the Deputy Governor, Mrs. Oby Okeke, said that the arrival of the babies is the best New Year gift to Ndi Anambra because it signifies a new year of bountiful harvest and progress for all.
Said she: “Triplets are wonderful to behold though I am told we lost one of them on arrival, they come with good tiding to our people. The birth of three male children at this period when resources are scarce, show that Anambra is blessed. They’ve come to rekindle our hope and belief that God will always provide. I have no doubt that our state will continue to prosper under Governor Willie Obiano.”

Mrs. Obiano noted that the babies currently in incubators are well looked after and will definitely act as a point of contact with God for the people in the New Year.
She advised the mother of the babies Mrs. Nwankwo to hold fast to her faith in God who made it possible for safe delivery and rest assured that He will provide for their sustenance.

Earlier while briefing the wife of the governor, the Registered Nurse/Midwife at the Maternity Ward of the Teaching Hospital, Mrs. Rita Ifeka said that the pregnant mother arrived the hospital at about 11.35am and delivered the first child at 12 midnight. She confirmed that the two surviving babies weighed 1.3kg and 1.35kg respectively.
In her contribution, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Vitoria Chikwelu observed that “this is the first time Anambra is recording the birth of triplets as the babies of the year. It is a sign of good things ahead and that also qualifies the Mother for a special award later in the year.”
Expressing her thanks to the governor of Anambra State and his wife Ebelechukwu, the mother of the babies, Mrs. Chioma Nwankwo, said that her joy and that of her family knew no bounds. She also prayed to God to replenish the resources of the governor and the state for their kind disposition.
