Robbers attack Enyimba football club in Kogi after Kano pillars

Seven-time Nigerian champions Enyimba were at the mercy of armed robbers on Monday afternoon as they travelled to Kaduna for the 2016 NPFL Super Four.
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club disclosed that the robbery happened in Okene, Kogi State, in the central part of Nigeria.
Players and officials of the People’s Elephant were also robbed of their valuables while “there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident”.
“We can confirm that our team’s bus was attacked by armed robbers this afternoon in Okene, Kogi State on our way to Kaduna for the SuperFour.
“Thankfully, there were no injuries during this unfortunate incident. Players and officials were however stripped of all valuables,” Enyimba stated Monday.
Kogi State was the same area where former Nigerian champions Kano Pillars were robbed in March last year while they were travelling to Owerri for their opening league game of last season.
That incident left no fewer than five Kano Pillars injured.
