Obiano set to provide 4 modern parks in Anambra for IGR boost

The State Government will provide four modern parks in the three Senatorial zones of the state to boost the state internally generated revenue.

The Commissioner for Transport, Engineer Romanus Ejikeme, disclosed this while defending the 2016 Budget proposal of the Ministry before the state House of Assembly committees on Transport and Finance and Appropriation.
The Commissioner explained that the parks, which will have shopping malls and guest houses, will decongest the roads and generate more income for government.
Eng. Ejikeme spoke by efforts of his ministry to provide parks for tricycles loading passengers along the UNIZIK junction to decongest the area and prevent further mishaps.
He  informed the committees that some staff of the Anambra Traffic Management Agency have been deployed to UNIZIK Junction to stop Okada riders and commercial bus drivers from loading along the road and ensure that the citizens use the pedestrian bridge while crossing the expressway.
On his part, the Managing Director, Anambra Mass Transit, Mr Raphael Okoye, assured the committees that he will use the twenty one vehicles released  by  government to generate more income for the state.
The State Commandant, Anambra Traffic Management Agency, Mr Chidi Umezinwa, took turn to assure the committees that they will generate income for the government through motorists who violate traffick rules.
In his remark, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Transport, Mr Chuka Ezenwunne, asked the Ministry of Transport to submit all relevant documents for timely passage of the 2016 budget.
While commending the Ministry of transport for ensuring free flow of traffick throughout the yuletide, the Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Mr Obinna Emenaka, charged them to sustain the effort.
