The Indigenous Peoples of Biafra ( IPOB) has vowed that no amount of intimidation by the
Federal Government would deter it and other pro- Biafra groups from pushing ahead with the agitation for Biafra autonomy.
IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful who made the dec¬laration in a telephone inter¬view on Saturday said Biafra would soon be actualised despite the antics of the federal govern¬ment to suppress and frus¬trate the agitation.
“No human being on earth can stop Biafra because God has ordained it”, he de¬clared.
Powerful faulted Presi¬dent Muhammadu Buhari’s remarks during his media chat that the detained IPOB’s leader, Nnamdi Kanu who had both Nigerian and Brit¬ish citizenships entered Nige¬ria without any passport.
According to him, “it is not Buhari’s business to know which passport Kanu chooses to use”, adding that “ Kanu is a Biafran and Nigeria’s passport is not binding on him”.
“People are free to have dual citizenship; besides, Kanu and other Biafrans are not under any obligation to carry Nigerian passport.
“There is no going back on the struggles for Independ¬ence no matter how much our enemies try to frustrate or suppress us. No human being on earth can stop Biafra be¬cause the movement has di¬vine backing.”
The spokesman said that talks had reached advanced stages with the relevant in¬ternational bodies for a pos¬sible referendum on Biafra Independence by the Unit¬ed Nations by the first quar¬ter of 2016.
Powerful enjoined all Bi¬afran agitators to remain res¬olute and non-violent in the struggle, no matter the prov¬ocations from security agents.
“Our non- violent stance is sacrosanct no matter the provocations. We shall get Bi¬afra without firing any bullet. We are democratic and peace- loving. We don’t believe in vi¬olence.
“Our fathers have paid the price with their blood during the civil war, so, we do not need to fight again”, he said.
According to him, the continued detention of Kanu by the federal government is only helping the Biafra agi¬tation to gain more interna¬tional support, adding that “ Kanu’s death cannot even stop the movement”.
