Don Jazzy, Olamide’s messy fight ; Ex-PMAN president sues for peace

The supremacy war between Afro hip hop star cum YBNL’s boss, Olamide and ace producer/ Mavin Records’ head honcho, Don Jazzy, is getting messier by the minute.
The war of words that started after Mavin’s act, Reekado Banks, won the Next Rated award, which usually comes with a brand new car, at The Headies held in Lagos on New Year’s day, has seen Olamide going on Twitter and threatening Don Jazzy to steer clear of the Lagos Mainland where he rules as ‘king.’
Obviously displeased with the judges’ decision to give the Next Rated award to Reekado Banks over and above his act, Lil’ Keshi, Olamide had grabbed the microphone, when he accompanied Dekunle Gold on stage to receive Best Alternative Act award for his song, Shade, and ranted to no end.
“Lil Kesh is our own Next Rated artist. F**k that sh*t! The streets will take over. Every f**kin single was a hit back-to-back. From Lyrically, to Shoki to Efejoku. Ko ni dafun Iya anybody,” he said, flung his drink and then stormed out of the venue with his crew.
Moments after, Don Jazzy was called upon to receive a Special Recognition award and he seized the opportunity to respond to Olamide’s rant.
He said: “I came out here to support my children. As they were trying to present the award, Reekado Banks was performing at Ali Baba’s show. I have already told my children that I will buy cars for all of them… Egbon Olamide, if you want the car come and collect it.”
But those who thought that the ‘war’ had ended at the award ceremony were in for the shock of their lives, as Olamide took the battle to the social me¬dia, tweeting and threatening Don Jazzy.
In a series of tweets, allegedly Olamide accused Don Jazzy of ruining D’banj’s career and oppressing artistes on his record label.
In his words: “Don’t f**kin come to the Mainland. Honestly, f**k you, I am f**kin Mainland. I did not mention father’s name on the stage. Don’t f**kin mention my name f**k boy.
“Don’t try all this shit with me. You crave attention so bad, cool with everyone on your team but na you be Don f**k everything up, ruin every re-lationship. U dey chance your boys, Dem dey call you baba, my niggas call me my brother. After you don ruin D’banj with packaging, na de same u come dey form humble on social media. I called to strike a deal with Di’ja.”
But not long after realizing his error, Olamide once again hit the social media site and apologized to his fans for his inappropriate conduct at The Headies event.
He said: “I want to apologise to my fans for my conduct, including swearing on Live TV, at The Headies event some hours ago. I recognize that you all are the most important part of my work and my journey so far, and I would not have come this far without you. Therefore, you deserve better from me. I promise to conduct myself in a more respectable manner in future.”
However, veteran juju musician and former president of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Admiral Dele Abiodun, has sued for peace between the warring artistes.
“Both Olamide and Don Jazzy should not start the New Year on a bad note. They should give peace a chance. This is exactly the kind of thing that led to the death of Tupac and Notorious BIG in the United States. Such things should not happen here. I advice both of them not to start the New Year fighting each other, they should please give peace a chance,” Abiodun said.
