(IPOB) – Biafra Independence: Our Road map and Achievements By: Asuzu Chinedu Peters

We the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have started a movement to help Biafrans achieve self-determination within the framework of law. Under the customary law administration, the Supreme Council of Elders (SCE) is the governing council. His Royal Majesty Hon Chief Justice Eze Ozubu (Rtd) is the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra and B.O.T chairman alongside other principal officers of the customary government.
Our ideology and adopted road map for  pursuing and achieving self-determination for Biafra hinge on Rule of law,  Diplomacy, Civil Rights (Human Rights Movement), Mass Media, Political, and every other legitimate process. Through our legal department (Bilie Human Right Initiative), Biafra sued Nigeria to court in Suit No. FHC/OW/CS/192/2013: Federal High Court Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria
Biafra Government is Legitimate and it is already in Place.
Many of you do not know what independence is all about, many Biafra agitators do not understand how Independence is pursued. I will take my time to explain this; my reason is because I have confidence in every Biafran to be a wise fellow, if they want to be wise.
First, Biafra government is legitimate, empowered through the law, both International law and Nigeria constitution.
There are four sources of Nigeria law:
1.    Customary /Sharia Law: Traditional administrative government before colonization.
2.    Statutory Law: Laws made out of legislative process (National/State Assembly)
3.    Case Law: Court declaration/Judgement from a case.
4.    Borrowed English law.
The Northern Nigeria activated Sharia Government in the North because every indigenous people have right to govern themselves according to their tradition. This came about from the adoption of Indirect Rule by Fredrick Lugard.
In the same manner, Indigenous People of Biafra have activated their customary government based on the provision of Nigeria constitution under the customary law, thus Nigeria government became epileptic and helpless to stopping it.
We Indigenous People of Biafra, having proved that we are Indigenous and our nationality before Nigeria was fraudulently created are Biafra. Biafra remnants that were not consumed in the genocide war by Gowon and Harol Wilson led Nigeria/British Government against Biafra.
This matter is in court today in suit No FHC/OW/CS/192/2013: Federal High Court Owerri, Imo State, Nigeria Led by Biafra Solicitor/Attorney Bar. Emeka Emekesiri, Bar Chief Debe Odumegwu Ojukwu and other lawyers. This established the legality of Biafra people to exist in Nigeria and to exercise our right to self-determination. We are prepared to take the suit to International Court of Justice. This is based on United Nations declaration on the rights of Indigenous people to self-determination, as well as adopted by African Union and by extension Nigeria constitution under the customary law. The case started in Nigeria in accordance to International law which states that such matter before it is brought to International Court you must exhaust Local remedies within the jurisdiction of the Country you want to sue to International Court of Justice.
We never hoped to get Independence in Nigeria because Nigeria is soaked and moulded in corruption and the law in Nigeria is not respected, as we all saw in Nnamdi Kanu case with DSS. Nigeria law are not respected even by Nigerian government. The law is merely a Christmas decoration of Nigeria government. But we must follow the process of getting Independence. That is what we have done and achieved. Today we have every necessary papers and evidence to go to International Court in 2016. Biafra Customary Government hoped to incorporate Nnamdi Kanu, Ben Onwuka and other Biafra activists that are held unlawfully in detention by Nigeria government in the suit at World court, if only the concerned persons give their consent and comes under IPOB Customary Government, because you can represent someone who did not ask you to represent him/her.
Process of Pursuing Independence in Summary:
1.    Establish a de-facto government: That is what we have already done (Customary Government of Indigenous People of Biafra). This will help put an administrative structure on ground and pull Biafra people together. The leaders of Indigenous People of Biafra are Justice Eze Ozobu Rtd (Chairman) Dr. Dozie Ikedife (Deputy Chairman) Gen. Joe Achuzie Rtd (Secretary General) Etc.
2.    Define and Control your territorial boundaries: We have defined the territorial boundary of Biafra but have not taken control of it yet. But that is what the Customary Government of Biafra is set out to do in the nearest future. There are three main ways one can take control of a territory:
i.    Politically:
ii.    Economically:
iii.    Force/Militarily  (Just Like Boko Haram taking over Northern Nigeria Territory)
Our best bet is politically. Biafra people can be in control of Biafra territories in Nigeria if Core Biafra agitators win political positions through elections. Having said that, Biafra Customary Government must have a political platform where core Biafrans can contest elections against sycophantic politicians in Biafra land that are working against Biafra Independence.
3.    International Diplomacy: Establish International relationship with international communities like U.N, A.U, E.U etc. I can tell you with all assurance that:
Through our campaign, Biafra has been accorded full consultative status by United Nations and African Union Economic Social and Cultural Council (ECOSOCC) department respectively and a delegation was sent to represent Indigenous People of Biafra at the United Nations ECOSOCC meeting in New York (26th May- 05th June, 2015) and 2nd African Union ECOSOCC General Assembly meeting in Nairobi, Kenya (18th -22nd Dec. 2014). Biafra women have also been invited to United Nation Women conference that will take place in New York March 2016. We have also sent our diplomats to Ivorian government to say thank you for their previous support and assistance to Ojukwu. President of Ivory Coast acknowledged them. Other diplomatic channels are in progress.
Through this diplomatic missions Biafra hoped to make friends with various country that will support our Independence and present it to United Nations General Assembly.
4.    Mass Media and Mobilization: This is our nuclear war head, because information is power. Our independence campaign can only be projected positively by Biafra media. We use the media to inform our people, educate and sensitize them. We no longer need other people to tell our stories alone; Biafra now has a voice to tell the world her plight in Nigeria contraption.
Biafra Government established her media and Information Department which is Voice of Biafra BVI Channel 1, headed by Mr. Jephta Opara and having the best professional media crew in likes of Com. Asuzu Chinedu (Director of Operation and IPOB Media Rep.) Nnabuike Nnadede (IPOB Media Chief Editor) and Com. Anienugwu Vincent N. (IPOB Financial Expert/Adviser).
Before now, it used to Radio Biafra headed by Mr Nnamdi Kanu until he started becoming vulgar and decided to be on his own. Voice of Biafra BVI Channel 1 was established to fill the vacuum Radio Biafra left. Voice of Biafra BVI Channel 1 maintains the highest professional and ethical standards.  We use our media to create new paradigm shift in Biafra struggle and consciousness.
We  do not make statements that are false, misleading, defamatory, discriminatory, threatening, offensive, abusive, likely to cause someone anxiety or distress, encourages violence or racial or religious hatred, blasphemous, pornographic, in breach of confidence, and in breach of privacy.
