DSS plots to keep Kanu with Boko Haram inmates - IPOB

The Independent Peoples Biafra ( IPOB), has raised the alarm over plots by the Department of Security Services ( DSS), to compel their embattled leader, Nnamdi Kanu to share cell room with suspected Boko haram inmates.
According to the group, the security agent has perfected arrangements to move the detained Kanu to cell rooms where members of the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists are kept.
IPOB in a press statement issued yesterday in Umuahia said it reliably gathered through its contacts in the security circles that Kanu would soon be moved to cells where hardened Boko Haram terrorists were detained.
The statement which was signed by IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful, also alleged that Kanu is currently undergoing torture in the hands of the DSS.
IPOB further said that Kanu who has been down with ill health was denied access to his doctor, and expressed serious concern over his health.
The non-violent pro- Biafra group warned the Federal Government and the DSS against the grave implications of subjecting Kanu to inhuman treat-ments or his death while in detention.
“The DSS should stop torturing Kanu because if anything happens to him they will not be able to contain the consequences “, IPOB warned.
IPOB therefore, called on world democracies like America, Israel, France as well as Russia, United Nations, Amnesty International and other relevant international human rights bodies to hold Nigeria responsible should “ anything happen to Kanu”.
IPOB wondered why the federal government has continued to pay deaf ears to calls, appeals and even court orders to release Kanu , while at the same time succumbing to in¬ternational pressures to pampered members of a certain Islamic group.
