Corp Marshal Boboye Oyeyemi! Can this write up be true about your office? Please tell me it is not true? So read and let us know the truth

•     Corp Marshal Allegedly Deducting A Total Of N120m From Officer’s Salaries/Allowances For ‘Special Buttons’
•    Paying His Way To Dine With The Rich As A ‘Shield’; Dumped His Church For ‘Aso Rock Chapel’
•    Bike Riders Least Provided With Safety Kits
•    Transfers Marshals And Officers Without Allowances; Sack Officers And Marshals At First Warning Instead Of 3rd Warning According To The Corps’s Rules
•    Indiscriminate Deductions Of Officers’ Salaries
The Road Safety Corp Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi from information exclusively made available to us is living to his full game of staying afloat amidst the prevailing anti-corruption wind by ‘dining’ with the mighty and romancing the political, religious and traditional circles.  He is allegedly doing so to wade off ‘the eyes of the law’ from being pointed in his direction.  Aside allegedly dumping his regular church for the prestigious ‘Aso Rock Chapel’ where the mighty and the political echelons cool off in their Lord’s presence, Boboye is said to be extending his largesse and selective generosity to the traditional and political institutions to guarantee all round protection through his stay in the helm of Nigerian Road Safety Corp. ‘He’s toeing the steps of his predecessor who schemed and funded his way to the top to become a minister.  That seems what Oga is doing currently’. One officer said.
Among many allegations levelled against him by his officers who seem ready for a show down with the road safety authorities include:
{a}  Incessant deductions of officers’ salaries,
{b}  Notice of deduction of N6,000 from each officer’s salary for buttons.
{c}  Inability of the authority to equip officers with working tools and kits.  Some of the officers who spoke to us on condition of anonymity revealed that though they preach safety on the roads, the Road Safety Authorities neglect the officers own safety. ‘For instance, take your time and check the Bike Riders.  You will notice they hardly wear safety kits.  Again, under the current leadership, officers are expected to sew their ceremonial dresses, design and knit their own lay-yard and all amounts to over N50,000’.  One insider revealed.
Another Officer who revealed that the Corp has lost the dignity that they were once reputed for said ‘When you are expected to buy your own materials and kits, with several deductions being made from your salaries without explanations every month, tell me how you expect an officer to practice the morals they preach. The Special Patrol are not paid their allowances, the Bike Riders are not kitted, training allowances not paid and transfer allowances hardly paid, tell me what will be the offshoot of this negligence in a government agency that is capable of employing thousands of Nigerians as a revenue generating agency. The tendency to compromise is so much there’
But what would be your reaction when a whooping N6000 is deducted from your salary and allowances on grounds that they would be used to produce buttons for your uniforms aside other unexplained deductions every month?  You may be compelled to ask if the button was made of gold and diamonds.
Our team ran a check on the mood of the officers and marshals in major cities around Nigeria, the complaint was the same and from what we gathered, a mass agitation will soon engulf the leadership of Road Safety Corp as a result of these illegal deductions.  When we requested to see the button, evaluate the cost and possibly match the cost with the quality, there was no special button to be seen anywhere.  One of the officers who spoke to us told us that ‘it was a mere avenue to mop up fund for personal pocket of the Corp Marshal’ who he described as having unusual appetite for money and self-enrichment.
‘Since he took over the mantle of leadership, everything has changed for worse.  He simply runs a one man show and acts as if every other ideas, suggestion and contributions from other officers are inferior to his.  He sets everywhere on fire; from transfers to total dismissal unilaterally without any effort at conducting a fair hearing on any allegations brought against them.  He looks like an embodiment of nepotism and favouritism.  Unlike other Corp Marshals and Chief Executive Officers, I guess the current leadership is one-sided in most of her actions, decisions and resolutions.  For goodness sake, how will you run a Federal Government institution as strategic as Road Safety Corp like a one man business in this era of change?  When expectedly, positivity in actions should replace naivety, selfishness and extreme quest for self-aggrandisement.  If Road Safety is well positioned, it could become one of the greatest employers of labour at least to bridge the unemployment gap which the current leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari is so desirous of’. An obviously angry officer opined.
Aside the illegal deductions currently being carried out by the Corp Marshal, we learnt that the Corp Marshal and his inner caucus team have been transferring men and officers of the Road Safety without Transfer Allowances.  Some of those who suffered this unjust treatment have threatened a show down soon with the leadership of Road Safety.  One of them who spoke to us on the condition of anonymity questioned the rationale behind transferring officers on flimsy excuses and on such short notice without paying the officer his transfer allowances to enable him settle for work in his new duty post.  ‘That to me is a crude attitude of a leader who is supposed to have braced to realities of the century’.   I borrowed to get here.  I borrowed to pay for where I live in currently and up until now, I’m yet to pay off the debt this transfer hung on my neck’.  He said.
To further prove the prevailing impunity within the leadership of the Nigerian Road Safety Corp, ‘some of us have advised him on the need for sustained sensitization programmes which is targeted at re-orientating an average Nigerian driver but instead of seeing these advices on basis of merits, he began to alleged that some of us want his job and if he should accept our advice, it would look as if he was not in control.  He looks more interested in the money the Corp members are raking in through fines they impose on offenders than sensitizing Nigerian road users.  Why will a so-called leader reject team play and collectiveness on fear of losing his job?  If you continue to rake in millions as fines for road offenses and innocent Nigeria road users keep dying as a result of recklessness that should have been corrected through simple interface orientations and reorientations, of what value is such money.  To me, it is sheer blood money’.  Another officer said.
SACKING OFFICERS AT FIRST WARNING
‘The rules and guidelines of the Corp stipulates that any erring officer or Marshal is served in writing a query which we call ‘Entering’ for the first, second and third times being the last before sacking him.  In all the queries, the officer is expected to respond to all the mentioned allegations which must be duly verified.  When the officer has been ‘Entered’ for the first, second and third time, then dismissal could follow after it has been verified that he has erred in his functions but that is not the case with the new leadership of Road Safety Corp.  A work of this nature requires extensive collaboration, team work and team strategy if we have to live to the expectations of Nigerians and play a pivotal role in the new policy frame work of the current Buhari-led government’.  Said an officer.
Asked if it was true that the Corp Marshal sacked over 200 staff without any form of compensation.  The officer replied thus ‘There has been series of sack here and there.  Yes, erring officers could be sacked but I guess the problem here is whether due processes followed in sacking them.  If you ask me, the problem is that Oga is very apprehensive of his job.  He tends to see more enemies than friends and that is affecting our operations.  Some of us who have ideas to share with him will not do so because he feels, we want to unseat him.  Everyone wants to unseat him.  Maybe he needs to know that no one wants to unseat him but that we all want a vibrant Corp that we all we be proud of.
As far as I can remember, the sacked officers took their matter to the Federal House of Assembly who granted them audience, investigated and ordered the Corp Marshal to reinstate them.  He has reinstated only a very few numbers of the sacked officers and expectedly, the ones yet to be reinstated are still crying out for justice and total obedience to constituted authorities’.  A senior officer of the Corp said.
‘We don’t even know where to turn to because we learnt Oga has been paying his way and rubbing shoulders with those in authority from the political, religious to the traditional institutions.  However, we know that the President is a no nonsense one and ones he hears about our groaning, he MUST, I repeat, he must sweep into action to unravel the very unknown in this Corp.  We have backups and verifiable evidences when that time comes’.  An officer lamented.
All efforts to get the Corp Marshal to address the allegations proved abortive as all calls and texts made to his line were never responded to.
