Confusion in SON, NAFDAC, NERC as Campaign for Democracy Calls For Probe , insists Agencies raked over N500 Billion unaccounted

There is confusion now in circles of Agencies and parastatals especially Organization of Nigeria (SON) and the National Agency for Food, Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) , Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) and the Nigeria Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) as a Human Rights group, Campaign for Democracy (CD), yesterday called for their probe.
The workers are confused as they never anticipated somebody would call for their probe in the manner CD is doing.
CD called on the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) and Independent Corrupt practices and other related offenses Commission (ICPC) to investigate the agencies listed above.
A statement signed by its South-East Chairman, Dede Uzor A. Uzor, and made available to www.odogwublog.com  in Onitsha, said that the call for the probe of these agencies was in line with President Buhari’s anti-corruption policies.
The activist group alleged that these government agencies have mismanaged billions of budgetary funds allocated to them, not minding other monies they have made from Nigerians and other stakeholders illicitly.
The statement reads in part:
“NAFDAC subjected and tasked importers to pay over N1 million for registration of a single pharmaceutical product compared to many products owned by traders. SON is a centre of corruption which has kept a blind eye paving a way for flooding of our markets with fake and substandard products from China and India, leading to many deaths in Nigeria. Such products include electronics, spare parts etc”.
“NERC is also an epitome of corrupt practices. The leadership should tell Nigerians how much they made from the privatization of the electricity companies as well as the recent increment in electricity tariff. What is painful is that most of the leadership of these agencies were about to complete their 10-year second tenure in office without any single account. The agencies has made over N500 billion in the last 15 years.”
