Buhari's wife shocks husband, concieves pet project

Contrary to the claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is not interested in the office of the First Lady, wife of the president, Aisha Buhari has declared interest in the office and is set to establish a centre.
She made her interest known yesterday when her representative, Hajiya Atiku Bagudu, wife of Kebbi State governor visited the FCT Minister, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello in his office in Abuja.
The pet project, National Centre for Child Development (NCCD) will have its pilot scheme cited in the FCT, to train pupils in three different stages to achieve its desired goals.
Leading a delegation on behalf of Her Excellency, wife of the Pres-ident, Hajiya Atiku Bagudu stated that the project was going to be a better way of contributing to the improvement of the life of citizens and that it was also a way of extending helping hands to children with special needs.
According to Hajiya Atiku Bagudu, the centre is for the vulnerable, those who are in need and that the centre would come up with a centre of excellence which will be good for all. She said that the choice of the pet project favoured the FCT because it’s the capital city of Nigeria where every Nigerian can come together.
In a power- point presentation, Dr Mrs. Shola Solarin, a specialist in child disability care, stated that the national centre, would address the special needs of the children whose problems are not of their making.
Her words,” this centre will address the rationale for establishing the centre, the social responsibly of every Nigerian to children and the inability of every Nigeria to accept that such problem exist and can be taken cared off.”
Dr. Mrs folarin pleaded with the Nigerian educational system to inculcate the special disability learning programme in the educational curriculum.
Speaking during the presentation, the Minister of FCTA Malam Mohammed Musa Bello, appreciated her excellency for choosing the FCT for the programme which he thinks will improve the already existing programme for the needs in the FCT.
He, however, suggested that the centre should kick start with the already existing structures and functional schools for the disability spread across the FCT, this he said is to avoid the delay of the centre over late arrival of funds.
He appealed to Her Excellency, wife of the President to be mindful of the sustainability of the programme implementation, which he said has been the bane of all projects in Nigeria.
The programme, which is to be piloted under public Private part-nership PPP, would eventually have the FCT make a feasibility study to determine its financial commitment.
