Boko Haram invade Chibok ,Bornu, as twin Blasts Kills 12 In Chibok Market

No fewer than 12 people have been killed following two bomb explosions in Chibok market, south of Borno, where over 200 schoolgirls were abducted by Boko Haram on April 14, 2014.
Two girls suspected to be Boko Haram bombers entered Chibok market yesterday and thereafter a loud sound from a bomb explosion was heard, a vigilante member in Chibok told  on phone. “Eight people died immediately,” the source who was involved in the rescue exercise said.
While many people were fleeing the market at the instance of the first explosion, the second bomb went off, causing more havoc, residents said.
Four out of the over 15 wounded ones later died as rescue workers and local officials battled to take them to the hospital at the neighbouring town, Uba, about 33 kilometres away.
The military had in the middle of 2015 ordered the closure of all markets especially in the local government areas vulnerable to Boko Haram attacks.
A source at Chibok said the local government authority decided to open the market yesterday following appeals and pressure from locals on their economic woes.
Efforts to get the reaction of the chairman of the local government, Mr Ba’ana Lawan, did not yield results as all his mobile lines were switched off as at press time.
