Delectable wife of the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Dr. Nnamdi Kanu, , Mrs Uchechi Kanu has given birth to a baby boy.
IPOB spokesman, Comrade Emma Powerful, who confirmed this to newsmen in Umuahia, Abia State, said Kanu's wife was delivered of her second baby in a London Hospital on Monday.
He described the arrival of the baby at a time his fa¬ther was being detained by the Federal Government as a divine vindication of the IPOB leader.
Powerful, therefore, appealed to the Federal Government to allow him reunite with his family and see his new child.
Meanwhile, the Delta State Police Command has banned all forms of public processions and protests in all parts of the state to check the activities of pro-Biafran agitators.
The order, which it said, takes immediate effect to safguard public safety and peace.
The statement, which was signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu on behalf of the Com¬missioner of Police, warned that any groups, unions, asso¬ciations or individuals caught violating the directive will be severely sanctioned according to the law, irrespective of their positions.
It read in part: "Law-abid¬ing citizens are advised to go about their lawful businesses and report any person(s), un¬ions or associations trying to breach public peace promptly to the police or other security agencies.
"However, groups, unions or associations wishing to car¬ry out peaceful procession are advised to seek police protec¬tion. The police command has reinvigorated its security appa¬ratus to ensure the safety of all law-abiding residents of the state and public utilities in the New Year while soliciting the continuous support of good- spirited members of the pub¬lic in the battle against crim¬inals".
The police action might not be unconnected with revela¬tions that Delta State chapter of IPOB was planning a mas¬sive anti-government protest.
A source said that the move was to challenge the govern¬ment's decision to hold Kanu, their leader, despite several court orders ordering his re¬lease.
