Kogi APC members reject Bello as governor-elect

All Progressives Congress (APC)The last has not been heard over the lingering political impasse in Kogi, as leaders and stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Kogi East senatorial district have rejected Yahaya Bello as the governor-elect, reports Tribune.

The party members reiterated their support for the Abubakar Audu/ James Faleke ticket.

The party leaders after a crucial meeting at Ayangba on Saturday rejected the decision of the national working committee of the party to nominate Bello as a replacement for the late Audu, saying that they would not shift ground on the issue.

The Zonal Chairman of the APC, Daniel Isah stated that the people of the Igala nation had resolved to pursue the issue to a logical conclusion.

He insisted that the Audu/Faleke ticket won the November 21 governorship election with or without the result of the supplementary election.

He chided the national leadership of the party for choosing to mishandle the issue of replacement for Audu, saying that they should have allowed the law to take its natural course instead of imposing a stranger.
