FCT Police arrest suspected members of armed syndicate

The FCT Police Command said that it has arrested 12 suspected members of the notorious armed syndicate operating in the territory. The suspects are believed to have been terrorising residents for over four years.

FCT Police Commissioner, Mr Wilson Inalegwu, announced the arrests as he presented the suspects to the media, listing their crimes in the process.

He added that the suspects were arrested by members of the command over a period of time throughout various locations.

Inalegwu said that the suspects specialised in robbing houses in the Lubge and Nyanya areas of the FCT which occured over a number of years.

The commissioner added that various items were recovered from the suspects, including five AK 47, 11 fabricated revolver rifles and three pump action guns. Other items are; one fabricated barreta pistol with magazines, one fabricated AK 47 rifle with magazine; one fabricated SMG; two English pistols and nine magazines; 254 live cartridges; 58 AK 47 live ammunitions and 15 expended AK 47 ammunitions.

He concluded in saying that their investigation had come to an end and that the suspects would soon be appearing in court to stand trial.
