Ahead of the 2016 edition of Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs), oraganisers have fixed Friday December 11, as a major build-up to the event, with the nomination announcement will be broadcasting to audience in the continent on Africa Magic channels at 21:30 CAT.

As is the tradition, celebrities whose films have been entered for the cvompetition will converge at a location, in every country, where the nomination broadcast will be screened amidst pomp and pageantry.

In Nigeria, host of the show is comeddiene and on-air-personality, Chigurl while ace Kenyan broadcaster Larry Madowo will direct proceedings at another end.

The event is being packaged by Africa Magic in association with MultiChoice and the headline sponsor, Amstel Malta.

Organisers say public voting will open immediately after the announcement and will close on the February 26, 2016.

According to the Director, M-Net (West) Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, over 2,500 entries were received for the various categories of the Award.

“Everyone is undoubtedly excited and I urge viewers to tune in as we find out those who made the final cut,” says Mba-Uzoukwu.

Since the maiden edition in 2013, the AMVCAs have celebrated the contributions of African filmmakers, actors and technicians to the success of the continent’s film and television industry.  With the fourth edition, which is scheduled to hold in March 2016, viewers can expect to see awards in categories ranging from acting, directing to scriptwriting and cinematography, to newly announced categories like the Best Movie for West Africa, Best Movie for East Africa, and Best Movie for Southern Africa.
