Dasuki reportedly says Jonathan told him to share N10bn to PDP members

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan and former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki

According to reports, former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki has said that former President, Goodluck Jonathan told him to share N10 billion to members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) during his administration.

According to Sahara Reporters, Dasuki revealed that Jonathan gave oral approval for the money to be converted to dollars and shared.

“Ex-NSA Sambo Dasuki disclosed he got oral approval from GEJ to convert N10b to dollars then share to PDP delegates,” Sahara Reporters tweeted today, December 4, 2015.

Dasuki is under investigation after being accused of laundering about $2 billion in funds meant for procuring arms for Nigeria’s military.

Earlier reports have it that Dasuki has named other persons who participated in the alleged fraud, including former governors, ex-ministers and chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

The former NSA was said to have begun spilling the beans after he was presented with a statement supposedly written by the former Director of Finance and Administration in the NSA’s office, Shuaibu Salisu on certain illegal financial transactions.

Dasuki's lawyer, Ahmed Raji has however denied reports that his client had begun naming his accomplices.

The former NSA had earlier claimed that he didn’t spend any money without Jonathan’s approval but the latter has denied knowledge of any $2 billion arms deal.
