Bayelsa State Police Command has arrested one Promise Menshak over the murder of an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Mr. Andrew June in Ekeremor, Ekeremor local government area.
Similarly, 17 persons including a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Alex Ekiotenne, have been invited for questioning.
It would be recalled that Andrew was macheted to death last Wednesday while returning from Ekeremor town, after attending the APC governorship campaign.
Others attacked suffered various degrees of injuries.
Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed that Meshak was in custody.
The spokesman added that investigations were ongoing.
