The press briefing was aimed at clarifying that former Governor Peter Obi did not actually leave behind N75 Billion as he claimed in his handover note as at March 17, 2014, but ended up admitting that Obi actually left N75 Billion in local and foreign investments, refunds and Bank balances in its grand total submission.

Governor Obiano’s stand was presented by Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof Solo Chukwulobelu and almost all members of the state Executive council in attendance.
His presentation as collaborated with the Commissioner for Finance Sir Okey Muoka and Commissioner for Information, culture and Tourism, Dr Mrs Uju Nworgu as well as the Principal Secretary to the Governor,   Mr Willie Nwokoye, but however pointed out that as at December 2013 Obi left N11.5Bn while the state’s cash balance was as at March 2014 upon handover approximately N9.0 Bn.

SSG Chukwulobelu however did not want it to be presented that Obi left N9.0 Billion in cash because of equity investments of N350 Million and N26.5 Billion foreign currency investments.

He said they have discovered 580 ghost workers during audit even as they admitted Obiano has gone for a N10 Billion loan from the CBN tagged infrastructure facility.
