THE Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate and senator repre­senting Edo North, Senator Francis Alimikhena has said the newly formed cabinet of President Muhammadu Bu­hari is in a hurry to salvage the nation from the mess and bondage it had been in the past years.

Senator Alimikhena ex­pressed optimism that the ministers would make up ev­ery lost ground in line with the change policy of the President Buhari administra­tion and the All Progressives Congress (APC) manifesto of change. Nigerians are wait­ing and APC will not let them down.

The deputy chief whip, who is the only APC sena­tor in the South-South and South East has urged the new cabinet of President Buhari to approach the enormous task ahead of them with all desperation to make up and achieve maximum result with­in record time. “The challenge facing our nation is great and we must face it with the nec­essary passion and will power so as to deliver on our promise of change which has already started yielding result since the inception of the Buhari ad­ministration. The Edo North Senator expressed confidence that the newly formed cabinet would help to stimulate eco­nomic activities and enhance infrastructure development in no distant time.

Senator Alimikhena, in a statement appealed to the newly inaugurated ministers to work with a team spirit to ensure that there is no gap between government and the society in order to make par­ticipatory governance a real­ity. “We must strive to restore our fleeing glory and the dig­nity of public service.”
