Insecurity: Military must not rely on foreign technology – CDS

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Gen. Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin, has said for the Nigerian Armed Forces to overcome its numerous security challenges, they must not continue to depend solely on foreign technology.

Olonisakin said this at the Army 4th Qurater Research and Development Conference organized by the Training and Doctrine Command of Nigerian Army (TRADOC NA) at the Obudu Ranch Resort, Cross River, on Wednesday.

According to him, strengthening research and development remains a viable solution to self-sufficiency.

He said they have been mandated by President Muhammadu Buhari  to develop the country’s defence industry to get the best protection, adding this is realizable through the harnessing of all human and material resources as well as collaborations with relevant stakeholders.
