Imortalize Enechkwu-Nwobodo

                                                        
    Former governor of old Anambra State, Chief Jim Nwobodo recently in the burial ceremony of the former speaker of  old Anambra State, Rt. Hon. Chief ,Dr. Ifenyichukwu Enechukwu urged  Governor Willie Obiano to immortalize the late speaker.
    Nwobodo who was clad in a black robe just for the occasion unlike his usual white and white appearance said he was sad to lose a friend and a true politician who practiced politics with love for his party and the people who voted him to power
“Politicians of today should know that politics is love. Don’t abandon those who gave you power. What God gave you, use it to help others”, he advised.
    “During my tenure, when the party was to elect a speaker, we decided to elect someone who is stupidly NPP, loyal to his party and Ifeanyi was the man”, he said.
    Jim Nwobodo recounted the achievements of Late Ifeanyichukwu Enechukwu, Oba of Oba who fully collaborated with him to make him (Nwobodo) successful and popular during his tenure as the Governor of old Anambra State from 1979 and 1983.
  “His achievements amongst many others was the establishment of an Akwa campus of the then Anambra State University (ASUTECH) (the Awka campus now Nnamdi Azikiwe University), establishment of Enugu State University of Technology campus now (ESUT) and Ebonyi campus now Ebonyi state University of technology (EBSU)”, he Stated.
    Nwobodo said that the late speaker played a pivotal role in the creation of today’s Anambra State as the progenitor and founder of the movement for the creation of Anambra State.
    The former governor who said he was pleased to see governor Obiano seated in the burial occasion urged the working governor to do something in memory of Ifeanyichukwu Enechukwu, so that others will see that leadership is service.
    Earlier in his address, Governor Obiano told everybody to remember we are only doing a sendforth for the late speaker and one day everyone will be sent fort, adding that people should learn from the colossus lying lifeless and do their bit to ensure that the peace and tranquility we are enjoying in Anambra State is not jeopardized.
