A former Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, has decried difficulties faced by Nigerian students in securing visas to study abroad.
Igbinedion noted that many Nigerian students have been frustrated and stranded due to hurdles placed on their path by many foreign embassies.
The former Governor, who spoke during Friday’s convocation lecture at Igbinedion University, Okada, urged President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene and asked foreign embassies in the country to relax their visa policies when it comes to students’ matters.
Prof. ART Solarin, who delivered the convocation lecture titled, “How Mathematics can develop the Nation,” said mathematics has contributed to the growth and development of the nation.
He noted that mathematics has helped to find solutions to national problems.
