Edo Landlords send SOS to Oshiomhole over flood

Landlords and inhabitants of Odia Street and adjoining lanes in Uselu, Benin City, Edo State, have sent a Save Our Soul appeal to Governor Adams Oshiomhole on the flood ravaging the area.

The landlords appealed to Governor Oshiomhole to help salvage their houses from being swallowed by the flood.

They said the flooding started after construction of service lanes on both sides of the Benin-Lagos express road.

A statement signed by seven landlords in the area said the flood water flows in from Adolor, Ugbowo, Uwasota and Evbareke streets.

The landlords urged the governor to visit the area and rescue them from the ravaging flood.

The statement reads, “Instead of the water passing through the drain along the major road, substantial volume of water flow to our area through the service lane because the service lane is on a lower platform.”

“Many houses and properties in our area have been destroyed by the flood and many people have been rendered homeless and they are now living with relations and sympathisers.”
