Gov. Willie Obiano of Anambra State has described the state Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) as a great achievement of his administration, urging investors to partner with it.
Obiano said this during his official visit to the ANSIPPA office in Awka yesterday. Represented by his deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, the
governor said the establishment of the agency was one stop shop for investors.
He said the ANSIPPA would not have been possible without the provision of adequate security by his administration. He commended the management of ANSIPPA for its ingenuity, which he said, had translated to attracting more than two billion dollars worth of investments since its inception.
He expressed optimism that more successes would be recorded in no distant time. Obiano said that his happiness was that ANSIPPA had succeeded in capturing the four pillars of
development in his administration, adding that its establishment was worthwhile.
Responding, the Managing Director, ANSIPPA, Mr Joe-Billy Ekwinife, described the handover of the Certificate of Occupancy of the agency to Cardinal Developers Limited by the governor as a step forward.
He commended Obiano for the gesture, coming after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the state government.
He called on potential investors to invest in Anambra, saying that all the necessary tools needed to facilitate such investments were available in the state.
He said the company was proud to be associated with the state government. Another official of Cardinal Developers, Mr Olisa Okeke, described the ceremony as momentous.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that ANSIPPA is Gov. Obiano’s brainchild, charged with the responsibility to collate, analyse and disseminate information about investment opportunities in the state.
The agency will also source for investment capital and advise on request, availability, choice or suitability of partners in joint ventures.
