Woman arrested for selling daughter's child for 150k

                                                           
A middle-aged woman, Eziaku Chidi, has been arrested by the police in Abia State for allegedly selling her 19'year-old daughter's child for N150, 000, with the consent of the young mother, identified as Chinasa.

It was gathered that Chinasa had been impregnated while in school and gave birth to a baby sometime in January and the mother, in connivance with one Martha Ajuzieogu, a midwife working with Lawato Hospital at Osisioma, in the state, sold the baby shortly after delivery, claiming the child had died and was thrown into a pit toilet.

A police statement said:

“Their arrest followed a tip-off received by operatives. According to the report, Chinasa gave birth to a baby sometimes in January 2015.
