A hired assassin who was paid a mere N50,000 to snuff life out of a man in Bauchi State, has been arrested by the police in the state.
A statement by the Bauchi State Command Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, states that the 40-year-old man was allegedly hired to kill one Tahiru Sulaiman of Nabordo town in the state for a fee the fee and had collected N5,000 as part payment for the job before he was apprehended.
The culprit identified as Tanimu, a resident of Gulawa village in Toro Local Government Area of the state, was reportedly hired by a 25 year-old resident of Zaranda village to carry out the crime.
Mohammed said that Tanimu who posed as a member of a vigilante group in the town, had abducted his victim in readiness to complete the job before the police swooped in on him and rescued the victim, following intelligence report.
Items recovered at the scene of the crime, according to the police, include one red Boxer motorcycle, one cutlass and the sum of N5, 000, being the advance payment.
The sponsor of the crime was arrested and investigation into the matter had commenced, according to the statement.
