Super Sunday…. London, Madrid, Owerri on soccer fire

What a Sunday it would be today in the football world, given the pair­ings in the different leagues across Europe and back home here in the Glo premier league.

From the city of London down to Madrid in Spain and Owerri in Ni­geria as well as munich in Germany, it is a day of special games that no soccer fan can afford to miss.

Check out the pairings: In London, fumbling Arsenal are in for more than a handful as they play host to EPL leaders, Manchester United who would do everything possible to keep a position which they are enjoying for the first time in two years.

In Madrid, Atletico would come all out for a mother of all battles in the local derby against city rivals, Real Madrid, while the two Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund slug it out at the Allianz Arena in Munich.

Back home here, Heartland of Owerri and Enyimba would be doing Oriental battle at the Dan Anyiam stadium in a game Enyimba would do everything possible to avoid a defeat. Enyimba presently lead the Glo premier league log and they know that dropping points now could see Sunshine or Warri Wolves catching up with them.

Only yesterday, Heartland media officer, Cajetan Nkwopara said they won’t be doing Enyimba any favor as they need the game badly to woo back their fans who of late have not been impressed with their home showings at the Dan Anyiam stadium.

On the EPL big game, the million naira question is if Arsenal will rise to the occasion against a Man U side that are presently in top form. Mid week, Man U succeeded in running away with a home victory in the UEFA champions league beating Wolfsburg 2-1, while Arsenal fum­bled at home losing 2-3 to Greek side Olympiakos. Will Arsene Wenger get it right today? This is a million naira question that would be answered after 90 minutes of action at the Emirates.
