Pastor in police net for stealing

Members of a church in Khayelitsha, Free State, South Africa, were shocked when their 40-year-old pastor was caught by the police after he broke into a house and stole guns and other valuable items.

Sergeant Ikobeng Hlubi of the Free State Police said the some suspects were found at Ha Rasebei location in Edenburg in possession of property that had been stolen the previous month month from a house in Edenburg.

Hlubi said that valuable items and firearms were stolen, along with a vehicle that was found abandoned and during questioning, the suspects allegedly told cops that the pastor and another man were involved.

“At the pastor’s house they found a stolen firearm. One suspect was also found in possession of a police bulletproof vest.”

The pastor and four others were arrested and face charges of house-breaking and possession of stolen property.
