Anambra State Governor Willie Obiano has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Affordable Building Concepts International Limited to build 10,000 housing units for workers in the state.

The project, according to Obiano, will cost an estimated $476.1m (N95.2b) and will occupy over 200 hectares of land. The governor hoped that the project would bring relief to Ndi Anambra, especially civil servants who lived far away from the state.
“This will be the third MoU we are signing on housing. We hope that these will go a all the way to help the housing problem faced by Anambra residents.
Chairman of Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA), Igwe Cyril Enweze said the project would promote urban development and modernisation, even as it provided affordable housing for the people.
“The project will generate 1,500 direct jobs during the construction phase, as well as about 6,500 indirect employment of which 75 per cent will be dedicated to Ndi Anambra.”
