Obiano Rewards Party Faithfuls

Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra yesterday fulfilled his promise to party faithfuls in the state whose efforts culminated in the success of APGA in his election as Governor as well as the last general election.

The governor kicked off his "Thank You" visits to Local governments at Aguata and Anambra East Local governments yesterday.

Speaking at the Ekwulobia township stadium, venue for the Aguata LG visit, Governor Obiano stated that All Progressives Grand Alliance is the party of the people and it was made manifest in the recent election where the party clinched 27 seats out of the 30 seats in the state house of Assembly. The governor noted that this would not have been possible without the collective efforts of party faithfuls. He disclosed that the purpose of his visit was to fulfill his promise of thanking wards and local governments that delivered during the election. He further thanked them for their immense contributions to the success the party had recorded. He urged them to keep flying the APGA flag and keep supporting his government in its bid to providing dividends of democracy to the people of the state.

Also speaking at the event, the immediate past national chairman of the party, Chief Victor Umeh described the governor as a man of integrity who has always lived to up to his words. He posited that the governor is doing so well and working assiduously for the overall development and growth of the state. Umeh affirmed the strong structure of the APGA party urging faithfuls to keep supporting the party at all levels. He noted that the era of PDP hijacking elections in the state is over as the party has fallen and its structure weakened.

In her address, the wife of the governor, Chief Mrs. Ebele Obiano thanked the party faithfuls for their support describing her husband as an action governor who is ever ready to take the state to greater heights. She stated that she was always there to support her husband through her skill acquisition programmes and empowering the women of the state as well as the less privileged. She urged them to keep supporting the governor as well as endorsing him for second tenure.

Also speaking at the event, the state chairman of the party, Chief Nobert Obi thanked the governor and the wife for living up to their words by thanking and rewarding the wards and LGs that supported the governor during the past election. He noted that the governor's good works are already speaking for him and will continue speak for him.

Earlier in his address of welcome, the Local Government chairman of the party, Prince Ezechukwu showered encomiums on governor Obiano describing him as a performing governor. He commended the governor for his humane gesture in thanking those who threw in their support during election. He advised the governor to continue his good works and not be relented. He further commended the governor immensely for the ongoing projects in the local government however called for close supervision to ensure quick delivery. He urged the people of the LG to rally round the governor. He further assured the governor of the support of the local government come 2017.

At the Anambra East Local government secretariat, Otuocha, the people defied the rain to welcome the governor and his entourage. The governor promised to continue with his good works urging them not to relent in supporting his administration.
