Nkpor,Ogidi residents rejoice over clearance of refuse

                                                              
Residents of Ogidi and Nkpor in Idemili North LGA, including passers by will now heave a sigh of relief, following the removal of mountains of refuse that have remained uncleared at various dump sights in the LGA for several weeks .
Some of the refuse blocked up to half  of the road thereby causing occasional hold up.
Speaking to newsmen ,a resident of number 111Old Enugu Road ,Nkpor ,Mr Sunday Obikwelu , appealed to the goverment not to allow heaps of refuse to remain at the area where they are dumped for a long time as diseases could spread through human exposure to the horrible odour and environment of the refuse dump .
Also in his contribution, the Chairman, Nkpor Main Market,Mr Lawrence Ububa okonkwo, said that refuse disposal in and around the market was  going on smoothly when the market authority was overseeing the removal of refuse at the dump sight in front of the market , and that it was when contractors started handling refuse disposal  in the L.G.A that weeks could pass without the refuse being evacuated,
He therefore called on the government to handover clearing of refuse close to the market  to market authorities to ensure prompt disposal of refuse in and around the market to avoid disease epidemic.
