National Youth Council to hold election in Enugu •Notifies Gov. Ugwuanyi, security agencies, others

The National Vice-Chairman (South East) of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Comrade Nnonyelu Williams Onyibor has notified the Enugu State governor, Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; the leadership of the security agencies and other stakeholders in Enugu about its state congress which would produce the next state executives of the body for the next four years slated to hold next month.
Nnonyelu, who is empowered by NYCN constitution to organise election for the state executives in the five states of the South East under his jurisdiction, noted that the comatose state of the council in Enugu occasioned by the expiration of the tenure of the past executives led by Mr Temple Chika has denied the youths of the state the enormous benefits and youth-oriented programmes from the Federal Government.
“Consequent upon the resolutions of the last National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) held in Abuja on 18th September, 2015, we write to notify you that in compliance with article 13.2 (vii) of the constitution of the NYCN 2012 as amended, and in line with the resolutions of the NEC which are to ensure regular and prompt conduct of congresses across states in Nigeria; in addition to my constitutional duty to ensure prompt and regular election in my zone in liaison with the Zonal Executive Committee as outlined in article 10.7 of the NYCN constitution, we wish to humbly inform you that we have commenced processes that would lead to the election next month” partly read the letter signed by Nnonyelu.
