Motherless child with hydrocephalus receives succor from Ugwuanyi

                                                      
Governor of Enugu State, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi ,has intervened in the case of a motherless child, master Uchechukwu Nwachukwu , who is faced with a health challenge suspected to be  hydrocephalus,  directing  the state’s Commissioner for Health, Dr Samuel Ngwu to ensure the child is taken to the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital( UNTH), Enugu, for an immediate surgery, promising that the State government would pay his hospital bill of N2million.
  
 The intervention came when the governor paid a  visit to Holy Child Motherless Babies’ Home, Holy Ghost Cathedral, Enugu, as part of   activities marking the  Nigeria’s 55th Independence Anniversary ,where he saw the child.
    
 Ugwuanyi, who also visited  Cheshire Skill  Home, Enugu , inhabited by the physically challenged, said his commitment to service to humanity prompted his desire to meet the less privileged in the state to mark this year’s Independence anniversary.
   
He told the inmates that  he came to identify with them and to let them know that they are part of  his government. ''The Government of Enugu State has you in mind; my due is to serve you well, to render selfless service to people of the state irrespective of their social strata. Government will always do the needful to ensure that the dividends of democracy are felt in every part of the state”, he said.
    
 He reassured the people of his resolve to serve with the fear of God, adding that he will fulfill his campaign promises to the people.
   
  Responding, the Chairman of Cheshire Home Skills Centre, Enugu, Mr Vincent Uzodike, thanked Governor Ugwuanyi for his  commitment to  service to humanity, adding that he  has been into such charity work for years.

 The governor also visited Red Cross, Mother of Christ Specialist Hospital, Enugu, where he presented cash gifts to them.

   Speaking, the State Commissioner for Information, Dr Godwin Udeuhele ,expressed delight over the governor’s kind gesture towards the down trodden, describing him as an epitome of humility.
 
He described the governor as someone who listens to the yearnings of the people, calling on the people of the state to give him the needed support.
