Man cries over lose of wife to Abuja blast

Abolarin Samuel is overcome with grief
The twin bomb blasts that rocked parts of Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory on Saturday, October 2, has rendered a 27-year-old man, Samuel Abolarin, a widower as the wife he got married to only last year, as well as her mother and brother, lost their lives in the blast that killed over 15 people with several others injured.

Speaking on a television programme, the grieving young man who is yet to come to terms with his losses, narrated how he got to know that he had lost the people he held dear to his heart:

“I started calling their lines. It was saying switched off. I called my wife’s line, her line was switched off. With the news I was able to gather, they said my sister-in-law was able to see my daughter.

She was the one that carried my daughter to National hospital. We were looking for my mother-in-law, my wife and my brother-in-law. When I saw their bodies, I could not even recognize my wife."

The twin blasts that took place almost simultaneously at Kuje and Nyanya, both sattelite towns in the FCT, has been claimed by a local wing of Islamic State.

In April, 2014, there was carnage at the Nyanya mass Transit motor park when the Boko Haram insurgents struck, and more than 100 innocent lives were lost.
