As NUJ, Anambra State sets for its election in November 13. 2015, many personalities have indicated interest for the position of Chairman, as well as other position.

your name and position you are aspiring for?
Yes, I am Odogwu Emeka Odogwu from Amanuke, in Awka North Local Government Area of Anambra State. I took the bold step to pick form to serve as Chairman in the up-coming November 13th election. By the special Grace of God, based on the merits of the offices I had acquired in the past, I am the best candidate for the position. There are four candidates for the position of chairman, but I am the best candidate.
   Ordinarily, I wouldn't have gone for the chairman of NUJ if people like Emeka  Arinze came out early to vie for the position or people like late Ify Anumba (JP), may her soul rest in peace, Amen. I approached Emeka Arinze and he told me he had no intention to vie, but all of a sudden, after I had picked the form I heard he heard equally picked a form for the same position.
  Do you see it as a betrayal on his part?
  Nooo! It is not.  I did not say that. Politics is a game of interest. You can develop interest for a position within some minutes. Besides, nothing stops him from vying for the position.
 Do you perceive any violence in the election?
The election of NUJ is always  a free and fair game. NUJ is never known for any violence and there  won't be violence. Nobody is interested to trigger violence.
  We will all go to pull. If I win, NUJ, Anambra state will go back to pride of place, to maintain number one in trade Union.
  What do you wish to achieve if elected?
  The NUJ press centre was attracted by me as a media consultant to Ezeemo group then. I  approached  them and convinced them to erect  a press centre that would be named after them. I discussed it with Ogbuefi Barnabas  Okonkwo and later with Godwin Ezemo. He asked me to come with NUJ excos which  I did. I told them what we wanted and how we wanted it  and pen was put to paper and vise-visa. It came to reality . I attracted it. If I were to be given my percentage for attracting it, I would have be given over N30million. But I didn't get anything. At the end, I was giving Ex-officio, that was how I entered the exco. I attracted a seminar that lasted  for one week. I devoted myself  to serve late Tochukwu Udoji as her Personal Assistant and Special  Adviser. I advised and assisted her very well, that was why after seen my meritorious services to the Union, she appointed me ex-officio, though with  the consent of the executives. That was how I contested for treasurer and I won convincingly.
   This time around, I am coming out for chairmanship position. Let me tell you, By God's Grace, If I win the position by November, I will  organize many programmes including man of the year Award. I will initiate programmes  for each of the chapels, train some members on special courses like  ICT. I will ensure that member travel places for seminar and lectures. I will look for jobs for those who are still freelancing, find another job for those who are not satisfied where they are working. Now, I have empowered over 20 youths. Some are under my payroll. So if I win, youths will rejoice, life will  take over NUJ. I am a man of  integrity. I fight for people's right. I am always out when people are humiliated, disenfranchised, I stand for justice.
  What do you wish to tell your followers and voters to do to keep peace and order in the Union and the society during the election period?
  What else will you advise anybody who wakes up and decides to contest for NUJ, because he or she is prepared. But, out of the four, I am the youngest, most entrepreneur, most focused, most proactive and most deligent in action.
  Remember, those I am contesting with, some of them will retire next year or next 2 years, but I still have over 30 years to  retire, so if I still  have  over 30 year to retire, it shows I still have the exuberance, I still have the resourcefulness, the zeal, consistency in decision, the vision and mission to turn NUJ the number one Union in Anambra State.
  So if the members of NUJ are willing to see the NUJ of their time, to see the digital NUJ, they should cast their vote for me. I  am focused and determined to make NUJ a  reference point and project it to limelight.
