HE may not be your everyday music star, but Calebin,as he is fondly called by his fans has come a long way in the Nigerian music scene. He debuted in the industry about 13 years ago, and has since carved out a niche for himself as a singer with a huge difference.
In a recent chat with WG, Calebin took a swipe at what he calls ‘the discriminatory attitude of some established music stars and producers’ against the up and coming ones, pointing out that the ugly trend is affecting the growth of the industry.
He described the music industry as being ‘stereotyped,’adding that “If given a chance, he would change the mindset of renowned producers and artistes. According to him, “This is because of the fact that some of the ‘top musicians are making things difficult for the up and coming artistes. For instance, it’s difficult for an up and coming artiste to feature an A- list star in his music video.”
Talking about his music, Calebin said, he sings to give hope to the hopeless in our society. “I have been in the music industry since 2002. It has been a long walk to finding my voice in the industry,” he added.
