The police in Abia State say they have arrested one Marshal Nwankwo, a suspected ritual killer in the murder of a hunchback, Ukata Iheme, for money making purposes.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Onyeke Udeviotu, Nwankwo, who claimed to be a pastor, is an indigene of Dikeukwu autonomous community in Umuahia North Local Government Area of the state.
He had, with another suspect now at large, Emeka Okoye, allegedly killed Iheme, removed the hunchback and his genitals before burying him in a shallow grave, and his arrest was made possible through painstaking investigation, following information that he was alleged to have been sighted last with the victim before his disappearance.
The police statement add that the suspect, on interrogation, made useful statements that led to the discovery of the grave where the body of the victim was buried and it was exhumed.
The victim was said to have disappeared from the community on Saturday, October 10, 2015, with his disappearance causing a lot of turmoil in the area.
