Families bemoan murder of children in Imo

FAMILIES of three young men from Mgbala Agwa, Oguta Local Government Area, who were allegedly murdered in connection with the tussle for traditional rulership, have cried out for justice.

The deceased persons, who were murdered last year,  included  Sunday Nnodim, 23, Ekenna Onanwa, 28, and Ndukaku Egbuluwa, 23.

Addressing newsmen yesterday, the father of one of the deceased, Pa Theophilus Nnodim, narrated how his son, Sunday  Nnodim, was shot in his presence, on November 8, 2014.

While recalling that his son died as a result of the gunshot wound, Pa Nnodim also recalled that he would have also been killed by the alleged assailant.

“The  remains of  my son had been lying in the mortuary at Ogbaku, Mbaitoli Local Government Area, since he was murdered last year,” Pa Nnodim said.

Speaking also, the mother of one of the victims, Mrs. Rachel Onanwa, said that her son, Ekenna Onanwa, a furniture maker was shot dead by a man (names withheld),  while on his way to work, on May 17, 2014.
