YOUR VICTORY, A VICTORY TO ALL

I receive the news of your aspiration to lead Anambra State union of the fourth estate realm (NUJ, Anambra Chapter) with high spirit, joy and gratitude to God. The reason is not far-fetched and very simple – You represent and define the face of Young Generation; very passionate, consistent and energetic. I have known you for 6 unbroken years now; spanning through my days as the Present of the Students’ Union Government, NnamdiAzikiwe University, Awka.
Then, you were a correspondent with Daily Champion newspaper. Among others, you were a committed development communication practitioner and brought to bear professional, interpretative and investigative expertise in conducting your media work. Particularly, you were in the frontline of setting common man and institutional agenda for discourse in the public space.
 I have not forgotten that in 2010, you offered UNIZIK Students’ Union Government a full page in Daily Champion at no fee as a medium to appeal to the Federal Government to release UNIZIK take-off grant which was hindering substantial and sustainable infrastructural growth in the University at that time. You also led the crusade of ensuring that all development issues of the union were in the public domain. Of course, this is one in so many genuine common man struggle you successfully championed and won at different times.
Today, Anambra NUJ – a revered union that you have diligently served in various capacities and at different times - is providing the platform for you to continue serving and championing the common man aspiration. This you have shown in the past and I have no doubt you will show it if you hold steward in NUJ as her chair. I am confident that given your astute pedigree in managing men and materials, your colleagues will in one voice say ‘Odogwu lead us and show us the way, the truth and the life’.
The Government of Anambra State ably led by His Excellency, Dr Willie Obiano is expanding the frontiers of excellence, showing leadership that is anchored on good governance, transparency and accountability. Security on demand is now guaranteed in the State. Anambra chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalist must continue to recognize this fact and be in the frontline of propagating this gospel. Your leadership must expand this harmony and frankly work with Anambra State Government to make our State the first port of call for all manner of genuine investment in Nigeria.   
I wish you well and pray that God will grant us victory. Your victory is a victory to ALL.
